Story Behind the Photo: Pebble Beach
This is the lesser-known Pebble Beach at Bean Hollow State Beach in Pescadero, CA. The beach was originally named Arroyo de los Frijoles, “Creek of the Beans” thanks to the unique pebbles that resemble the beach found along the shore. These tiny pebbles are actually quartz that has been chipped from an offshore reef, tumbled ashore and been polished by the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
